Alright, so if you’ve seen my post on social media or you’re a part of my email tribe, then the cat is out of the bag. Yes, I’m pregnant (cue the confetti!). I’m six months along and this has definitely been an exciting, scary, life changing journey thus far. More than anything, exciting! (I mean, you haven’t experienced true happiness until you’ve bought baby clothes.)

Now for the preggers tea...

2019 was a bit of a whirlwind for us. He came back from deployment last spring, we started building our first home in the summer, closed on it and moved in last fall. By Thanksgiving, we were pregnant. Having a baby was always something that we wanted, but the timing was what truly threw us both for a loop de loop. We were still trying to get adjusted to becoming first time homeowners, and all of a sudden we added a baby into the mix. Needless to say, we were both a ball of nerves at first. Everything changed for me after my first ultrasound appointment. So many emotions ran through me, it was CRAZY, but that’s when I realized that everything happens for a reason and that we needed to trust God’s timing.

We made it through the entire holiday season filled with family, friends, Christmas parties and New Year celebrations (all during the first trimester) without telling a soul. And yes, I was SICK! In fact, we didn’t tell anyone until I was four months pregnant (telling our parents they were going to be first-time grandparents on Valentine’s Day was priceless). Now with under 100 days left in my pregnancy, I’m finally ready to share this great news with the world.

You may be wondering why I chose to wait so long to announce such a GOOD thing. Well, when it comes to my personal life and social media, I go by the motto "less is more." This is a brand new journey I'm embarking on, and I just wanted to keep this exciting news as close to home for as long as possible before sharing it. Because, let's be honest, everybody doesn't always wish you well or have your best interest at heart. (Preach, preacher!)

You also may have noticed through this entire blog post, I haven’t mentioned the baby’s gender. I mean, gosh, is it a boy or girl?! The answer is…coming soon. We’ve known the gender since we were around 14-15 weeks along (and yes, we have a name too)! But, the gender announcement will be coming on social media VERY SOON, so be sure to follow me if you don’t already.

As always, well wishes and positive prayers are always welcome as I continue on this new chapter.
